Matured Cumin Cheese
Matured Cumin Cheese is stronger than his younger version, but stays nice and creamy and is even slightly sweet. The milk is transferred to cheese by a completely natural process, without adding conserving or colorings’. Only little salt is used. So the cheese stays creamier and has a delicious full flavour. Cumin obviously gives the distinctive flavor to the Gouda Cheese, allowing it to be absolutely seen as a unique product. Matured and subtly sweet smooth Gouda meets crunchy charismatic cumin!
Gouda Cheese is traded for centuries in the city of Gouda and in the summer months there is still once a week a (touristic) Gouda cheese market. It is one of the most famous and most widely consumed cheeses. The name Gouda Cheese is not protected, but is generally circular in shape, has a fat content of at least 48%, and weighs between 1 and 16 kilograms. Since 2010, ‘Gouda Holland’ is a protected name by the European Commission. This name may only be used if the cheese actually comes from the Netherlands and is made from Dutch milk. Gouda cheese is frequently made in cheese factories. A handmade similar to Gouda Cheese is the Farmhouse Cheese (in dutch: boerenkaas), which is made on the farms in the region.
The cheese is freshly cut with a knife and vacuum packed, so we can always assure the quality. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact our customer service.
